This short essay film unveils the simple, quiet everyday life of my grandmother bringing audiences along using the objective view of the camera, capturing the aura and authenticity of each moment in time as she carries out her daily routines.
Audiences observe her in her roles as a friend, a wife, a mother and a person, reflecting on her different selves as inspired from the Japanese proverb The Three Faces of Beauty, which believes that humans have three faces: the face you show the world, the face you show the people closest to you, and the face you never show anyone.
Revealing glimpses of her public and private life across time, the film explores thematic narratives surrounding the human identity of self, relationships, loneliness and the Singaporean elderly.

We chose HDB void decks as the central theme of our zine. showing how the space serves to build connections and bring a sense of comfort and safety.
